Introduction The Edit Coupon page provides for both adding new coupons and editing existing coupons. You get to this page by clicking on the Coupon Code from the EZ-Coupon page. Buttons Save. Clicking this button will validate the information that has been entered for consistency and then save the information that has been entered or changed. If there are any errors, such as a duplicate coupon or an invalid date, a page identifying the errors will be displayed. Return. Returns you to the previous page without saving any changes made on the page. Fields Only two fields are required for a coupon, the Title and CouponID. Normally you would enter data into at least one other field for a coupon. You can combine the features as you wish. For example, if you create a coupon with on the free shipping checking, you may also specify start date, end date, discounts, order threshold or a combination of them. Title. Enter a descriptive phrase describing the coupon. This description will appear in most places where the coupon is used. CouponID. This is the code that identifies the coupon and is the value that the customer must enter to received the value for the coupon. The CouponID must be different from any other Coupon ID. Discount Amount. In this an optional field. Enter the amount of the discount. The amount can be either a fixed amount, such as $5.00 off or it can be a percentage such as 5 percent off. Check the radio box to the right of the amount to determine whether the discount will be Fixed or a Percentage. Effective Date. In this an optional field. Enter the date that the coupon will be effective. The coupon will not be valid until the date and time has passed this date. The effective date is the same as a start date. You can either enter the date or click on the calendar icon to select the date visually. Below* is additional information about entering the date information. Expire Date. In this an optional field. Enter the date that the coupon will expire. The coupon will be valid until this date and time and not available after this date and time. The expire date is the same as an end date. You can either enter the date or click on the calendar icon to select the date visually. Below* is additional information about entering the date information. Minimum Order Amount: In this an optional field. By entering an amount, you are setting the threshold amount the order must be to be used. The amount of the order must exceed this amount to be used. * Additional information about the dates. Using the calendar icon. By clicking on the calendar Icon, you can select the date by clicking on the day of the month. Use symbols at the top to move forward or back months or years. You can also adjust the time by clicking on the hour or the minutes, then while holding the shift key, move you mouse right or left. This does take a bit of dexterity and patience. Dates and time. The dates entered also include a time. You can enter the time if you wish. If you do not enter a time, a time of day will be assumed. For the Effective Date, the time is the beginning of the day. For the Expire Date, the time is the end of that day. The time zone specified on your computer determines the time. For example if you specify that the coupon expires at 5:00PM Pacific time, some in Eastern Time zone can use the coupon until 8:00PM Eastern Time. Acceptable date formats. The system will recognized the following date formats.
