Introduction

Coupons for discounts have been a great tool for successful merchandisers in brick and mortar stores and online ecommerce sites for years.  The reason is simple, they work.  Coupons get shoppers into the store, get shoppers to purchase more items, and bring back shoppers again and again.   For online e-tailer, an offer of free shipping can be a very effective method of attracting and keeping customers.  What customer at Amazon.com hasn’t added one more item to their cart to get of the $25.00 threshold to get free shipping?

The EZ-Coupon tool provides these powerful merchandising tool to you.  With this tool you can set up a variety of features:

  • Multiple coupons.
  • Coupons that provide a fixed amount or a percentage off the order.
  • Coupons for  free shipping.
  • Coupon can have a set time period the coupon to be valid.
  • A order amount threshold to activate the coupon.
  • You can see how many times a coupon has been used.

Buttons and Links.

Add Coupon.  Clink of this coupon to add a new coupon.

Delete.  Clink on this button to delete all the coupons that have been checked.  You must first put a check in the box to the left of each coupon you want deleted.  You will NOT get a confirmation page before the coupons are deleted.

Delete Expired.  Clink on this button to delete all coupons that have an expiration date prior to right now, regardless of whether they are checked or not.  You WILL get an opportunity to confirm your deletion.

Coupon Usage.  Click on this link to go to the Order Statistics section and view the page indicating how many times each coupon has been used.

Columns

All and Select All.  This is the column where you select which coupons you wish to act upon, primarily for deleting.  By clicking on the box in the heading or the “Select All” link below the list of coupons, you can automatically check the boxes for all coupons.

Code.  This is the coupon code that you assigned to the coupon.  This code is the code that must be entered on the shopping cart of the payment page to utilize the coupon.  This coupon code will appears on the pages that refer to a coupon.  This code must be unique within you account.  By default the coupons are listed in order by coupon.  By clicking on the column heading, you can reverse the order of the coupons.

Title.  This is the title or description you have assigned to your coupon.  The title will appear on most of the pages and messages that refer to a coupon such as the shopping cart and order confirmation.  By clicking on the column heading, you can change the order of the coupons to be by Title.  A second click will reverse that order.

Start.  Indicated the date and the time that the coupon becomes effective. By clicking on the column heading, you can change the order of the coupons to be by the Start date.  A second click will reverse that order.  If you have a lot of coupons you will find this helpful to know

End.  Indicate the date and the time that the coupon ceases to be effective. By clicking on the column heading, you can change the order of the coupons to be by the End date.  A second click will reverse that order.

Discount.  Indicates the amount of the discount specified for the coupon.  If the discount is a percentage discount, it will so indicate.  By clicking on the column heading, you can change the order of the coupons to be by the amount of the discount.  A second click will reverse that order.

Ship Fee.  Indicates if the coupon provides for free shipping.  A green check mark will indicate free shipping.  By clicking on the column heading, you can change the order of the coupons to be by free shipping or not.  A second click will reverse that order.

Status.  This column indicates whether the coupon is active (black), expired (red), or scheduled (green) for a future date relative to today’s date.  The combination of start and end date determine the status.
